Amidst insecurity in the nation, Bassey has requested that ‘Jesus’ be used in bold letters on social media platforms and Nigerians have obliged.
Gospel singer, Nathaniel Bassey, has led Nigerians in shutting down Whatsapp, Instagram, Facebook, Twitter and other social media platforms with a new challenge to his fans, five years after the success of his #HallelujahChallenge. The gospel artiste and happily married father of two, on Tuesday, June 7, 2022, shared a picture on social media with the inscription ‘JESUS’, and asked his 2.6 million followers on Instagram and 1.3 million on Twitter to make it their profile picture and share all over their social media accounts. He tweeted:
“Can we make this picture our profile picture and tweet at 12 noon? Let’s release the precious ointment over our land and nation. JESUS.”
And interestingly many Nigerians abided.
WITHIN NIGERIA found out that at exactly 12pm, fans and gospel lovers shut down Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp, and other social media platforms, by sharing the photo with the inscription ‘JESUS’ across the platforms and using it as their profile picture.
The new trend has caused social media traffic as the #JESUS continues to trend.
