Fast-rising Nollywood actor and ‘The Man of God’ star, Akah Nnani has shared his journey so far in the industry as well as being lucky to not be type cast.
In a recent interview, the actor about his acting career and the biggest role he has played while also stating that he considers himself fortunate to have had the opportunity to play a range of characters.
“I am one of the actors that can say I am grateful not to have been profiled or boxed. There are some people that the only thing they give them is a fine boy ‘come and be making love in film’
“There are some people, their own is police role, some their own is pastor. I’ve done everything! I’ve done agbero, I’ve done rich boy, I’ve done a gay character.”
Akah Nnani recalls his most challenging role as a rebel commander in the Joke Silva-produced musical ‘Heartbeat.’ It was his first time on stage, and the first time Bolanle Austen-Peters, the director of ‘The Man of God,’ saw him perform. She cast him for his first main role in a feature film four years later.
Akah Nnani went on to say that his career in the entertainment business began six years ago with Accelerate TV. His big break came when he co-presented Shade Corner, a popular conversation show hosted by the entertainment platform. Prior to earning the hosting job, the well-known actor stated that he had resigned from his 9-to-5 job to pursue his self-taught vocation.
