American actress Mary Mara passed away on Sunday, June 26, after drowning in the St. Lawrence River, which flows into Lake Ontario.
Mara’s manager, Craig Dorfman, who confirmed her death, described her as one of the finest actresses he ever met in his tribute to the deceased.
“I still remember seeing her onstage in 1992 in Mad Forest Off-Broadway. She was electric, funny, and a true individual. Everyone loved her. She will be missed,” Dorfman wrote.
Emergency responders saw the 61-year-old’s body in Cape Vincent, in New York the morning of the sad incident.
According to the statement released by the New York Police, the “ER” and Ray Donovan’s actress’ “body showed no signs of foul play and was transported to the Jefferson County Medical Examiner’s Office.”
Preliminary investigation showed that Mara died by drowning while swimming in the river, but an autopsy is being conducted to officially confirm the actual cause of her death.
