Yoruba Nollywood stars have generated a lot of backlash for their show of love and support for the presidential aspirant, Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
This isn’t the first time they are all pulling out their weight for the former governor of Lagos State. However, the only difference is a good number of these actors called the ‘League of Actors for 2023’ came together to do a jingle, to support him.
Taking to Instagram, Yinka Quadri shared a video of many of his colleagues drumming support for him.
Spotted in the video were Fausat Balogun, Yinka Quadri, Jide Kosoko, Taiwo Hassan, Faithia Williams, Femi Adebayo, Shola Kosoko, Eniola Ajao, Murphy Afolabi and a host of others.
Yinka Quadri credited Bola Tinubu for influencing many actors to venture into politics. He wrote:
“I, Alhaji Olayinka Quadri pledge my support for BAT not because I was paid to do so but because of Asiwaju support and influence to all and sundry over the years. Majority of actors who venture into politics today do so because of the influence of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu. By God grace, Asiwaju will move from Jagaban of Lagos to Asiwaju of Nigeria. For all your sacrifices, for all your effort, God will reward you this time…. If we look at the rotation of leaders in Nigeria over the years, it is very crystal clear it is Yoruba turn to be president.
BAT, Eyin lol kan (you’re the next)”.

Recall, Twitter was on fire on Tuesday June 7 when some Nollywood actors were spotted at the APC presidential primaries.
Popular actors like Zack Orji, Gentle Jack, Emma Ehumadu aka Labista, Andy chukwu, among others were seen on the podium at the event, waving the Nigerian flag as Timi Dakolo’s song, Great Nation was played.
This singular act has however garnered a lot of mixed reactions from tweeps who aren’t sure if these thespians were at the function as delegates, as supporters or simply as entertainers.
Some netizens believe the actors have every right to support whomever they choose, while others believe they showed support due to the monetary factor involved.
In all, these actors have received more backlash than praise from tweeps. Read details here
