It’s no longer news that Nollywood actors and actresses are now making moves and taking front row seats in politics.
Leading the pack is Tonto Dikeh, who was declared deputy governorship candidate in Rivers, come 2023 and then Funke Akindele for Lagos, Femi Branch for Ogun State, and now Caroline Hutchins for Akwa Ibom, possibly with many more to come.
This move has generated both appraisals and backlash and Nkechi Blessing has addressed the backlash.
Nollywood actress, Nkechi Blessing has addressed those criticizing her colleagues for participating in politics.
The thespian said, she is super proud of every celebrity out there especially the females coming out to partake in politics. She added that celebrities have been called out for not participating in some happenings in the country but that should not be the case again as some are getting involved in politics.
Furthermore, she encouraged people not to look down on those joining politics from the entertainment industry as most of them are also very educated. See video below:
