Lagos socialite and friend to Late Lobito, Adekass dies

Socialite and founder of Kas Chicken, Adebayo Kassim aka Adekass, has died just three weeks after his friend Dotun Olaribigbe, popularly known as Lobito Disco, died.

Kassim died on Thursday on the day of burial of Lobito. Publisher Dele Momodu wrote in an Instagram post:

“The city of Lagos has lost another top socialite OTUNBA ADEBAYO KASSIM of the KASS CHICKEN fame, and good friend of LOBITO DISCO, who died recently, and was buried today. ADE was also a good friend of the Speaker House of Representatives RT. HON. FEMI GBAJABIAMILA. ADEKASS, as We all fondly called him, had helped to raise funds for the funeral of

LOBITO and wrote what seemed a prophetic tribute to him:

“Otunba Adebayo Kassim tribute to ‘LOBITO’*

“Good night my general, we been friends for about 45years not one day we don’t talk, I will greatly miss you, wait for me at the gate of heaven see you on the other side your friend and brother forever.”

Kas Chicken was popular in Lagos in the 80s and 90s.

Before the foremost fast food eatery packed up, so much in demand was the quick service restaurant that it was the toast of the affluent in society.
