Nigerian animation production company, Komotion Studios has released character posters for its 3D animation film ‘Dawn of Thunder: Origin of Sango’ in build up to its anticipated release.
The 3D animated feature film which has been in production for a while, tells the story of Sango, a revered Yoruba deity who controls thunder and lightning.
According to the new posters, Funsho Adeolu plays Oranmiyan, Jude Chukwuka plays Orere, Taiwo Ola plays Torosi, Gift Obasi plays Ladun, Wale Adebayo plays Ajagbo, Brutus Richard plays Manda, Oluwashola Ogundele plays young Arabambi, Ayo Ayoola plays Sango, and Adebisi Shonde plays Yemoja.
Dawn of Thunder: Origin of Sango will focus on the mythical character who according to folklore, was the third Alaafin of Oyo and wielded incredible powers.
In a statement released in June, Komotion Studios gave a summary of what the animated film will be about.
“It’s an origin story which chronicles his life from birth till his eventual disappearance. We go back to where it all started, the questions he asked, the answers he was given, the visions about his future encounters and ultimately how these experiences will shape his future.”
