Actress Bimbo Ademoye has notified the public of the various acts of impersonation against her on TikTok and WhatsApp.
In a statement on Instagram on Tuesday, August 2, Bimbo noted that “impostors, fraudulent individuals, and organizations are impersonating themselves as Bimbo Ademoye & other prestigious brands I represent to extort money from innocent Nigerians online and via social media.”
The 31-year-old who shared some screenshots to back her claim, disowned the accounts, warning her followers against making payments without verification. She wrote:
“The handle @officialbimboademoye and the link attached to this particular handle on tik tok are not in any way linked to me. Therefore, I strongly denounce this fraudulent unscrupulous impersonation and hereby alert the general public to this urgent situation.
“For the avoidance of doubt, I do not accept money from anyone to purchase goods and services of any prestigious brand I represent as an influencer/ ambassador as it is not in my position to do so.
“It is also important to note that for any purchase from any of the prestigious brands I represent kindly ensure your payments are made to the account name and number of the particular brand. Should you be contacted by these suspicious entities, please do not engage in any transaction with them.”
Recall that in 2019, Ninalowo cried out over an impersonator who uses doctored passport and bank atm card from first bank to defraud customers.
The actor posted a video on Instagram on Thursday, July 28, distancing himself from fake social media accounts and the said blackmailer.
According to Bolanle, a lady sent her naked pictures to one of the scammers impersonating him and the scammer has been threatening to release the photos if she does not pay him.
