Actress Kate Henshaw has congratulated Tobi Amusan for winning the 100m hurdles gold medal at the 2022 Commonwealth Games.
Tobi Amusan clocked 12:30 seconds to set a new games record and retain the title she won in Gold Coast, Australia four years ago.
Congratulating the 25-year-old in a Twitter post on Sunday, Kate Henshaw stated that athlete is tearing down every barrier and will keep winning no matter what. She wrote:
“All is SHE DOES is win win win NO MATTER WHAT!!Tobi Amusan. Ripping through..Tearing down every barrier.”
Tobi’s win comes two weeks after she won the gold medal at the World Athletics Championships in Oregon, USA.
Nigerian singer Paul Play, among other Nigerians, took to Instagram on Monday morning, July 25 to applaud Amusan on the feat and chastise Nigerian leaders for their “failure”. He wrote:
“Tobi Amusan thanks for making us proud again.”
“I am African, I’m proud, feel no shame or stress to say it loud !!! As our failure-infested leaders, keep letting us down. Let the athletes, musicians, actors, academicians, activists, and entertainers keep lifting us up. We won’t stop.”
