Actress Wumi Toriola has sparked reactions online for imitating singer Kizz Daniel and the situation that allegedly surrounded the latter’s absence at a concert in Tanzania.
The Yoruba actress posted a video of herself on Instagram on Thursday, August 11, joking about not being able to perform because her luggage was missing.
Wumi Toriola who made the video at an airport added that she was on the same level with Kizz Daniel who was arrested for failure to perform at his concert allegedly because one of his luggage was not delivered.
In the video, the actress could be heard saying:
“I can’t perform tonight, I’m sorry my fans I can’t perform tonight, can’t find my baggage. Kizz Daniel and I are in the same situation. I’m sorry, one love.”
The video has sparked hilarious reactions from her colleagues like Muyiwa Ademola, Jaiyeola Kuti, Bukunmi Oluwashina, among others. See video and reactions below:
Recall at a press conference on Tuesday night, Kizz Daniel apologised to his fans for his absence at the concert, and promised a free show on Friday.
He said in parts:
“The fans were already going wild which I know was out of love but I was advised to stay back, it wasn’t safe, it’s no disrespect to the fans. This Friday, a free show, by the way, I will be partnering with Straight Up Vibes to make that happen. I must apologize to the fans. None of this was intentional.”
However, in an interview with media personality Daddy Freeze, the show promoter Stephen Uwa claimed “Daniel said he would not be performing because the airline did not bring his bag containing his gold chain.”
In a more recent interview, Stephen made a u-turn on his statement, explaining that emotions were running wild that night, and that made him utter such words.
