Popular Nigerian Afrobeats singer, Adedamola Adefolahan mostly known as Fireboy’s third studio album ‘Playboy’ has made its way to the Billboard Album Charts.
Fireboy recently released “Playboy,” his third body of work, to immediate popularity in Nigeria. The album featured a sizable number of international artists, including Chris Brown, Shenseea, Euro, and Ed Sheeran.
The choice to incorporate some global appeal has paid off, as Fireboy’s third studio album, “Playboy” debuted on the Billboard 200 chart in the week of August 20th at position 129. This comes following the album’s 9K US sales, which allowed Fireboy to make his chart debut.
In a similar vein, Fireboy’s highest charting album, “Playboy,” debuted at number four on the Billboard World Album Chart.
After the release of his collaboration with Ed Sheeran on the remix of “Peru,” Fireboy experienced significant popularity in the US. He also participated in the remix of “Frozen” by Madonna. Chris Brown’s appearance on “Diana” was also certain to increase awareness of the album among American listeners.
In the upcoming weeks, Fireboy should try to build on this achievement and keep moving up the charts.
