Afrobeats superstar Wizkid has described Ojuelegba, a suburb in Surulere local government area of Lagos State, as a very rough place to grow up as a kid when discussing the factors that made him the respected musician he is today.
Wizkid said he got a lot of nos but had a vision of taking music from Nigeria to the world during a conversation with Olugbenga Agboola, the CEO of Flutterwave.
Wizkid, a global brand ambassador for the FinTech firm, disclosed the experiences he obtained from Ojuelegba while growing up helped shape and prepare him for success.
Despite his dream of becoming a megastar, Wizkid held he had to prove himself to people amidst negative comments and turndowns.
