The body of actress Ada Ameh has arrived in her hometown Ogobia, Otukpo in Benue State.

The actress’ onscreen husband Charles Inojie posted a video of the body arriving in a coffin at Ada’s compound.

“IT’S A WRAP FOR ADA AMEH

There lies a chip of us

Deadpan and ice-frozen

There lies a broken heritage

Wrapped in a funeral encasement

In that air-tight wooden bed

Is our naked truth

No matter the differences we nursed

You can never tell

How much of us is in them

There again is a grim call

A charge to everyone

That none is promised tomorrow

That we may live today as the best of days

Spreading love beyond the bounds of our comfortable thresholds

Till the twilights dim on the hour not foretold

When the once sonorous symphony

Fades forever away

On the morbid horizons

Of life’s curtain fall.”

Before her death, Ada battled with mental health. She revealed she had been dealing with mental illness following the death of her loved ones.

She spoke about her ordeal in an interview with media personality Morayo Afolabi-Brown on Your View TV show published on Friday, July 1.

According to The Johnsons actress, she had been depressed for years and her daughter Ladi’s death made it worse because Ladi was her best friend, and sister and it felt like her world had crumbled.

The 48-year-old also disclosed that she lost six siblings before Ladi died. She said:

“I have depression, I have been depressed for some years and it became very worse when I lost my daughter in 2020. I was 14 when I had her, she was my best friend, and sister, I just saw my world crumbling down before me.

“I had lost three of my sisters and three of my brothers. I thought I was going to be next when my younger sister died and I have been in and out of the hospital.”

Ada Ameh visited her daughter’s grave last year to mark the first anniversary of her death.
