Singer Waje has celebrated her 42nd birthday with the release of a new album, titled Unbroken.
The vocalist announced the album in an Instagram post on Thursday, September 1 while celebrating another year. She wrote:
“I give praise to a beautiful God who has shown me mercy, in whose presence I stay, who am I without you? I cannot imagine. Na me be this, singing hallelujah, Abasi! you are God alone who holds me UNBROKEN! Album Out On All Digital Platforms.”
Waje was also celebrated by her best friend and colleague Omawumi who said she was moved and felt the great pull of the holy spirit after listening to the album.
She wrote on Instagram:
“Happy Birthday @officialwaje. When I heard #wajeunbroken, I was so moved! I could feel the Great Pull of the Holy Spirit. Thank God for showing you your purpose- The Part you play in His Will. Thank God for you in my life. Thank God for you. Only you be Lion wey come hold gun join! Have a blast as always!”
In 2019, Waje revealed she was struggling vocally.
In a post shared on her Instagram page, Waje said she did not know if her struggle was caused by mental stress or health issues. She wrote:
“I’m struggling vocally, Been struggling for a while. Don’t know if it’s mental or medical but It doesn’t change his plans for me.?”
Reacting to the post, Omawunmi advised her against quitting, saying it will amount to leaving her all alone in the music industry. She wrote:
“My Dear Friend turned Sister, the conversation we had concerning this recent video, we had it in private. But I want to use this medium to tell you. I can relate 100%. I am thankful for your love and support and being the strong woman that you are. I know you can’t quit nothing! And leave me alone in this industry? Mbanu”.
