‘Stray shots’ have hit Asake as Dorcas Shola Fapson reminds Nigerians of the rising exchange rate
Actress cum DJ, Dorcas Shola Fapson used the British Pound as her reference, while pointing out that £1 is now exchanged for about #900.
She went on to note that nobody seems to be bothered by the situation on ground as Nigerians seem to be more focused on singing the music rave of the moment, Asake’s songs. Dorcas Fapson wrote:
“Pound is going to N900 / £1. We are all keeping quiet and listening to Asake.
Continue.”
Asake fully came into limelight in 2020 when he dropped Magicsticks which was produced Mr Money.
Speaking about his journey into music in an interview with Punch, the Yoruba music artiste said:
“Yes, music has always been my lifelong dream. I started with dancing and ended with music. It is the only thing I know I can do comfortably that gives me inner joy and peace. It started back in school when I was performing at school functions. It felt good and I made sure that feeling never left.”
Asake released his debut EP, Ololade Asake, a project that boasts of four-hit tracks – ‘Omo Ope’, ‘Sungba’, ‘Trabaye’, and ‘Baba God’. He further performed ‘Baba God’ at a live session organised by Glitch Africa in February 2022.
The YBNL signee collaborated with Grammy Award winner Burna Boy to record the remix of ‘Sungba’. The song was released on March 28 2022 and topped the music charts for several weeks.
