Veteran actor, Jide Kosoko alongside other colleagues, Adewale Elesho and Fausat Balogun popularly known as Madam Saje has joined Lagos State Government in a campaign against air pollution in the state.
The Nollywood stars joined the team of the Lagos State Environmental Protection Agency (LASEPA) which recently expanded its advocacy efforts to Ibeshe, a seaside hamlet in the State’s Oriade Local Council Development Area.
Dolapo Fasawe, the general manager of LASEPA, noted during the ceremony that the organization has employed several techniques to help all inhabitants internalize the message of clean air through the use of entertaining theatre, poetry, board games, and songs.
Fasawe stated that the decision to hold the clean air advocacy in a coastal region was deliberate given the increasing sea level, which demands serious attention and worries from everyone in the world.
“The State Government realised that in order to curb the trend of rising sea levels, urgent attention must be paid to global warming and climate change through constant advocacy and recycling of non-degradable materials.”
