Afrobeats Superstar, Davido, has stirred reactions online after he paid a courtesy visit to the palace of the Osemawe of Ondo, Oba Adesimbo Victor Kiladejo Adenrele Ademefun Kiladejo.
The music star is presently in Ondo State for a show, but he decided to pay homage to the traditional ruler before proceeding to other business.
He went along with an entourage that included his American friend who is alien to the Yoruba culture.
In a viral clip, Davido was captured calling the friend to greet the paramount Yoruba king.
The Singer, while delivering a speech at the palace used the opportunity to introduce his friend from Atlanta, Georgia, USA. He revealed that the guy was visiting Africa and Nigeria for the first time.
The moment the young American walked up to where Davido stood, he was confused on what to do in the presence of the King and his wife, so he tried to wave. But the DMW boss corrected his friend who was unaware of the culture and instructed him to prostrate.
The Atlanta-born man knelt on the ground with his two hands on the floor instead of prostrating. He ended up waving at the Oba when he stood up as the Fem crooner continued to address them.
The facial expression of the traditional ruler was stoic but it seems he was not pleased or amused by what happened.
However, on the part of the queen she seemed to take the incident a little more lightly as she could be seen smiling.
