Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu To Be Chief Host Of 2022 Africa Movie Academy Award

Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu has been confirmed to be the chief host of 2022 Africa Movie Academy Award (AMAA).

The Lagos state Governor has reaffirmed his commitment to hosting the African film community at the 18th edition of the Africa Movie Academy Award (AMAA) coming up on the 30th of October, 2022.

Reports stated that the governor agreed to host AMAA for the following four years after visiting the 17th edition at the Marriot Hotel in Ikeja last year.

According to Uzamat Akinbile-Yussuf, Lagos state’s Commissioner for Tourism, Arts, and Culture, the state is prepared to accommodate the African film industry and guarantees first-time visitors a positive experience and a more memorable one for repeat visitors.

Also, Peace Anyiam-Osigwe, the founder of AMAA spoke about preparations for the award ceremony while also praising Sanwo-Olu for keeping to his promise.

“We are happy Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has restated his commitment to host AMAA for the next four years. He is not only making true his promise last year but also displayed the traits of a true leader.

“The AMAA team has been working with the Ministry of Culture and Tourism for execution of a successful awards ceremony.”
