Nigerian media mogul and EbonyLife boss, Mo Abudu has responded to those criticizing her latest movie, ‘Elesin Oba: The King’s Horseman’ calling them ‘uneducated.’
Responding to a post from Deyemi Okanlawon, the actor who played Olunde in the epic adaptation of Wole Soyinka’s ‘Death And The King’s Horseman,’ Mo Abudu praised Deyemi Okanlawon for giving a commanding performance.
Deyemi Okanlawon had put up a post addressing those who had negative criticisms against the movie describing the film as a work of art. In response to this, Mo Abudu had stated that it will always go over the heads of some people.
“Our darling Olunde, who gave a most commanding performance. Elesin Oba – The King’s Horseman will stand the test of time forever and ever. It will always be a reference point in moving pictures as it’s the first time that this play has been done as a feature film. It will go over the heads of some, because they are ‘uneducated’ about this work. But I am glad to see that many of your followers are exposed to understanding the concepts and thematics displayed in our film. It truly is a work of art.”
While her comment on Deyemi Okanlawon’s post had 62 likes, one social media user called her to order, stating that her comment was elitist and it shows she’s unwilling to accept feedback as a part of the filmmaking process.
It is important to note that this is not the first time Mo Abudu will take a swipe at the people who criticize her work.
