Grammy winner, Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun professionally known as Wizkid has revealed his intention to live forever.
Speaking in a recent interview, Wizkid said along with managing his ego, he aims to ‘live forever’, not literally but through his works.
According to Wizkid, his resolve to ensure he achieves his aim was made even firmer when he attended a musical play, ‘Get Up, Stand Up’ for one of his idols, Bob Marley. In Wizzy’s words:
“Alongside managing my ego, one other aim for this new chapter is to live forever. “Not physically, but for whatever I create to live forever.
“I recently went to see Bob Marley musical, ‘Get Up, Stand Up!’ I was like, ‘Yo, we’re watching a Bob Marley play and this guy died decades ago.’
“I didn’t even know that he died at 36. He did so much at a young age. It just reaffirms what I do; I have to keep taking this to the highest heights. Because I know one day they’re definitely going to create a play about me.”
In other news, Nollywood actress cum deputy gubernatorial candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Rivers State, Tonto Dikeh has given a shocking insight as to why she sometimes thanks God she doesn’t know who her biological mother is.
Tonto Dikeh made the revelation while celebrating the impact of her late stepmother during an interview. She said:
“My stepmom was the only woman involved in my life who also supported me when I left home to pursue my career in the entertainment industry.
”She’s the only one who has ever blessed me, clothed me, fed me and prayed for me as a mother.
”The closest I have got to love from motherhood was from her, and she gave more than what she had. She was the best, the best woman on earth and because of her, sometimes I say, thank God I never knew my mother because she would not have been as good as this.”
The actress had in January this year lost her stepmother.
