Vice president, Yemi Osinbajo has made a rendition of some hit tracks of singers Asake, Kizz Daniel, and Burna boy while using them as a reference during his speech at the ongoing UNWTO World Tourism Organisation Global Conference in Lagos.
Yemi Osinbajo in his speech described music as a global language and entertained guests with tracks like Buga by Kizz Daniel, Organize by Asake and Last Last by Burna Boy.
During the rendition of Buga, the vice president, Yemi Osinbajo urged the guest to join in the chorusing, which they did and cheered him. Osinbajo disclosed:
“Music is a global language that is enjoyed even when you don’t understand the language or lyrics. How many people know Kizz Daniel’s Buga won? ‘Let me see u lolo buga won…’(guests join him in singing it)
Today Nigerian music is been danced all over the world.
Buga won is a Yoruba phrase meaning, show off your success, don’t think you are not doing well, flaunt your success no matter how little it seems to others… we all know Burna boy, he sang last last, everybody will chop breakfast, there is wisdom in it, it means we all matter at the end. He is the first afrobeat to sell over 500 units in the first 17 weeks of release and is now certified for gold in the USA..”
The vice president further went on to sing Asaka’s Organize hit track. Osinbajo stated:
“We also have Asake who sang ‘Organize every other day I organize, some of us are wise, every other person overwise’,… these songs are street slang in Lagos and all over Nigeria…”
