Rema Emerges First African To Top Billboard Global Chart

Rema, a Nigerian musician, has topped the Billboard Global Excl. US Chart with his hit song “Calm Down (Remix)” featuring American singer Selena Gomez.

The transnational collaboration earned Rema and Selena Gomez the number one spot on the chart list, making him the first African musician to claim the spot on the prestigious Billboard Global Excl. U.S. Chart.

It indicates that Rema, through the song ‘Calm Down (Remix),’ has ruled most of the world’s countries. Although the chart excludes American territory, it is unknown whether Rema conquered the United States as he did other countries around the world.

Unlike the Billboard Global 200 chart, which contains data from all over the world, the Billboard Global Excl. U.S. chart, which Rema ranked first for the week, includes data from countries other than the United States.

Rema’s ‘Calm Down’ track sold over a million copies in the United States, as previously reported. The song surpassed the milestone through a combination of sales from the original version and a remix featuring American singer Selena Gomez.
