Actor Ijebu fumes, calls out AMVCA organizers over alleged rigging against Femi Adebayo – VIDEO

Tayo Amokade, also known as Ijebu, a prominent humorous Nollywood actor, has taken to social media to express his disappointment with the organizers of the Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards (AMVCA) as colleague, Femi Adebayo’s highly acclaimed movie, ‘Ageshinkole,’ failed to secure an award in major categories.

In new clip shared on his Instagram page, Ijebu accused the AMVCA organizers of giving out awards based on how actors supported them, not for recognizing outstanding achievements.

Ijebu’s public critique has ignited discussions about the transparency of the award selection process and the expectations placed on certain films.

His words;

Any day an organization says they will only give someone an award because he/she supports them or donates a large amount, that organization is no longer serving the greater good

Femi Adebayo‘s role in ‘King of Thieves’ (Ageshinkole) was not enough to earn him ‘Best Actor in Drama, Movie or TV Series’ award, which was scooped by Tobi Bakre.

The versatile actor’s movie bagged 8 nominations for the 9th edition of the AMVCA.

His film King of Thieves received nine nominations for best director, best actor, best art director, best writer, best picture editor, best makeup, best soundtrack, and best overall movie.

Only his movie’s director Wale Adeleke won the ‘Best Art Director’ category at the event.
