Charles Oputa, widely known as Charly Boy, has responded to calls for his arrest following his recent comment.
In a tweet on Saturday, the outspoken musician challenged Nigerian teenagers to follow in the footsteps of French protestors who destroyed public property in response to the shooting of a 17-year-old youth by police near Paris on Tuesday.
Charly Boy, who shared a video of protesters burning down buildings in France, claimed that was what he expected Nigerian youths to do to “reject the system that let them down.”
Some Nigerians were offended by his post and called for his arrest for seeking to instigate civil disorder in the comments section.
Charly Boy, on the other side, insulted people asking for his arrest on Twitter on Sunday.
He wrote, “Na only me just dey Laff as guys just dey Kpara on top my Post, pple come dey even call for my arrest, see monkeys.
“DSS can’t arrest criminals but can arrest people who speak against criminals. You’re a useless Nigerian.
“Because I charged the Youths of Nigeria to take their destiny in their hands and bring down a criminal Enterprise, some Mumu persons come dey form gangster on top my post [sic].
