Baba Abija seeks financial assistance from the public


Tajudeen Oyewole, widely recognized as Abija, a renowned herbalist in Nollywood, has made a heartfelt request to his fans, appealing for the generous gift of a car.

The Veteran Actor made the appeal on Wednesday in a video, shared by skit maker and Comedian Kamo State.

In the clip, Abija confirmed that he reached out to Kamo after witnessing the the Skitmaker’s successful efforts in raising funds and securing cars for his colleagues, Lalude and Alapini Osa.

Highlighting his longstanding presence in the movie industry since 1972, the Thespian emphasized that due to the challenges of mobility in old age, he can no longer actively engage in the activities he loves.

Furthermore, he admitted to feeling embarrassed or hesitant about going to movie sets without a car, highlighting the impact it has on his confidence and perception in the industry.

Abija recalled receiving a car as a gift through a mass donation in the past. However, he disclosed that the current condition of the car is bad, with a malfunctioning engine that has ceased to function properly.

He made a heartfelt appeal to his fans, urging them to lend their support by raising funds to help him obtain a new car.

This is coming after Popular Yoruba Actress, Jaiye Kuti, in a viral video on Instagramcondemned the recent trend of veteran Yoruba actors soliciting car gifts and financial support online.

She said the older colleagues should take responsibility for their present predicament following the careless financial choices they might have made when they were still active in the industry.

The movie star attributed their plight to their failure to prepare for their future.
