Grammy Recording Academy invites Hafsat Abdullahi


Award winning Spoken word Artiste, Writer, model, Hafsat Abdullahi aka Hafvy, recently made an exciting announcement on social media, stating that she has joined the Recording Academy.

Taking to her Instagram page, an excited Hafvy, in a video, pledged to use the platform to promote her craft and celebrate the often-overlooked individuals in the music industry.

Sharing invitation letter she received from Grammys, she wrote

It is with great joy, I announce that I have been selected and recommended by my peers to be a member of the @recordingacademy

“What this means is that I get to be involved in the recommendation and the voting for the Grammys in celebration of music.

As a child I’ve always been a lover of good music and it’s so much honor that I am given the privilege of being a part of such a huge body that gets to celebrate music. Thank you Grammy and thanks to the recording academy for this honor.”

The Recording Academy had recently extended it’s invitation to Big Brother Africa winner Laycon, A&R specialist Abiodun ‘Bizzle’ Osikoya, Boomplay Ghana general manager Elizabeth Ntiamoah-Quarshie and some other notable personalities in the African continent, who have accepted the call to become voting members.

Hafsat Abdullahi born into the family of Alhaji Abdullahi is an Igala lady from Kogi State, Nigeria.

Hafvy became an internet sensation after her unique poem in a short video clip went viral on various social media platforms.

Her powerful verses addressed issues like neocolonialism, mental enslavement, acculturation, and westernization, resonating deeply with Nigerians.

The video received a tremendous response, gaining praise from notable figures such as renowned music producer DonJazzy, rising young politician Usman Austin Okai, and Kogi’s finest blogger, Sani Michael Omakoji, among many others.

The music activist whose dream is to become a world recognized Poet has won so many awards in the past including: “YouthOnEdu”, award winner sponsored by World Bank, winner of Multiple Poetry Slam Champion among others.
