Slimcase opens up about shifting dynamics in relationship with Wizkid

Nigerian singer Oluwafemi Oladapo, famously known as Slimcase, has opened up about his evolving relationship with the globally acclaimed artist Wizkid, born Ayodeji Balogun.

Slimcase acknowledged that his rapport with the Grammy-winning sensation has undergone a transformation, indicating that their connection is not as intimate as it once was.

Nonetheless, the “Shaku Shaku Master” clarified that the alteration in their relationship dynamics wasn’t initiated by Wizkid; instead, it was due to his own musical progress plateauing.

During an interactive Instagram live session with his fans, Slimcase divulged that he and Wizkid shared a close bond in the past, particularly during Wizkid’s earlier phase as an artist.

However, as Wizkid’s career propelled him to new pinnacles of success, Slimcase found himself unable to keep pace, leading to a natural distancing between them.

In Slimcase words;

 “I know Wizkid when he was Wizkid, but I am not close to him when he is Big Wiz. He has climbed high mountains, and I couldn’t catch up with him, so I fell off. He didn’t cut me off.”

The Nigerian artist further clarified that Wizkid’s rise to the status of “Big Wiz” was marked by extraordinary achievements and a remarkable evolution in his music and influence.

This ascent, as Slimcase pointed out, rendered it challenging for him to maintain the same level of closeness they had shared during their earlier collaborative efforts.

It is worth recalling that Slimcase and Wizkid collaborated on the track ‘Gucci Snake’ during 2018, a period that saw both artists at a significant peak in their respective careers.
