The false accusations resulted in a legal showdown that concluded with a court order for Ego to either pay a fine of 250,000 naira or face a three-year prison sentence. Ego opted to pay the fine.

After the court verdict, Ego Blessing became the target of significant online backlash and public scrutiny.

A video circulating on various social media platforms captures Ego’s emotional plea to Nigerians to release her from the relentless dragging and allow her to move forward.

In the video, Ego acknowledges her mistake and emphasizes her humanity, saying, “I am only human. Is it gonna make you feel better to wake up and see me kill myself?”

She also points out the larger issues facing the country, suggesting that the focus should be on politicians involved in corruption and money theft, who she argues pose a greater threat to Nigerian citizens than her actions.

In part of her words;

“Is it gonna make you feel better to wake up and see me kill myself.

“I ain’t even started yet and the dragging is too much already”.
“Can y’all just take a chill pill.”
