- American rapper, Joe Budden gives Burna Boy the title of the ‘biggest artist in the world’
- Joe expressed discontent over Burna Boy’s act of giving rights to Jamaican artist Byron Messia’s hit track ‘Talibans’
Renowned American rapper Joe Budden has sparked a debate online and left music enthusiasts in awe as he boldly declared Nigerian artist Burna Boy as the ‘biggest artiste in the world’.
On a recent episode of his podcast on the Joe Budden Network, Budden recognized Burna Boy as a significant person in the music industry.
He did, however, voice his displeasure with Burna Boy’s decision to grant rights to Jamaican singer Byron Messia’s popular song “Talibans” after being included in its remix.
According to Budden, he fiercely opposed similar behavior even when Kanye West did it a few years ago.
In his words;
“I’m never a fan of people transferring ownership of already existing songs to themselves after being featured in the remix.
“To the biggest artiste in the world [Burna Boy]. Yeah, I’m not a fan of when that happens. If you made the hit, go work it. If Burna Boy is on it, that should be yours now. But I don’t know the business he [Byron Messia] and Burna Boy did.
“I never remember that going right for somebody. Designer and Kenye [West], I wad vehemently against it.”
It seems undeniable that Burna Boy’s impact and influence are reaching unprecedented heights, cementing his position as a true musical juggernaut on a global scale.
In another story, Burna boy stated that “90% of Afrobeat artists don’t have substance in their music”
Burna Boy claimed in an interview with Apple Music’s Zane Lowe that the majority of Afrobeat musicians lack life experiences, which renders their music hollow.
He declared that music, in his opinion, ought to be infused with real-world knowledge.
