Fans went absolutely bonkers over that retro incident when Burna Boy stood up and left his own family members hanging during a chat with a high-profile global TV interviewer, all while they were diving into the world of Fela, leaving his mom and grandpa utterly stunned


A clip from an old interview the Grammy Award-winning star, Burna Boy, granted to American cable channel, Vice TV, has taken the internet by storm, igniting a flurry of opinions and discussions among folks.

In the captivating footage, the interviewer settled in for a chat with none other than Burna Boy, accompanied by his mother and esteemed grandfather, Benson Idonije – a notable figure as Fela’s manager in days past.

Burna Boy managed to catch everyone off guard – left them utterly flabbergasted and red-faced after he dramatically rose from his seat, deeming  Interview session as uninteresting.

Amidst his mother, Bose Ogulu’s recounting of her time in Fela’s crew as the daughter of the iconic late singer’s manager, the interviewer eagerly sought Burna’s perspective.

Burna Boy, in an act of pure audacity, stood up and said: “This is boring” and walked out on them.The scene was a mixture of astonishment and chagrin, prominently displayed on the countenance of his mother.

In related news, Grammy-winning Nigerian singer, Damini Ogulu, aka Burna Boy, has asserted that the afrobeats genre lacks lyrical substance, stressing that it is “just a great time.”

According to him, the genre is “literally nothing.”

The self-styled “African Giant” stated this in a recent interview with Apple Music’s Zane Lowe in New York.
