Olumide Ogunade, a seasoned music producer and vocalist also known as ID Cabasa, has finally explained why he split from his former signee, Abolore Akande, popularly known as 9ice.
Cabasa recently told media personality Chude Jideonwo in a recent interview, that 9ice was angry by his decision to continue working with his ex-wife, Toni Seun Payne.
Recall that Payne oversaw artists for Cabasa’s Coded Tunes Record, which also featured Olamide and rapper 9ice.
After the pair split up, Cabasa chose to keep working with Payne, which 9ice found disappointing and unwanting.
Cabasa had explained his decision to retain Payne on his squad.
The music producer claims that he carried it out so as to enable 9ice to keep a close contact with ex-wife Payne and their son, Zion, who he might never see again if his ex-wife had left with him to abroad.
He said:
“When I started pushing Olamide, you noticed I brought Toni Payne in. 9ice was angry but he had no idea why I brought her in. I brought her in because I needed to keep Payne and her son, Zion, close to 9ice. I felt 9ice may never see his son again if she takes Zion abroad.”

The music producer, who also doubles as a singer, said being omniscient is a characteristic of God, and being the child of God, one possesses the knack of being all-knowing like Him.
ID Cabasa made his point in an Instagram Live session during the week while explaining why collaboration is vital to human existence. He noted that despite knowing a lot about music, he cannot manage an artiste.
In his words; “Is your circle a blessing to you or are they just devouring the small blessings you have? If you are the only one that is smart in your circle, it is either you leave that circle or encourage them to be smart.
“We need a lot of collaborations at this time. There are many things I cannot do as ID Cabasa. So, I make sure I keep collaborators— people that can do the magic I cannot do. As much as I know how to do some things in music, I don’t know how to manage an artiste. Even me, I need a manager. The fact that I know everything a manager does, does not mean I can do it.”
