Nigerian billionaire and renowned business tycoon, Tony O. Elumelu, has firmly denied recent claims circulating on social media that suggest President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is considering him for the position of the Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN).
Elumelu took to Twitter to set the record straight after a user named Imran Muhammad made the unverified report.
The rumors began when Imran Muhammad, with the Twitter handle @ImranMuhamma, posted a tweet.
He wrote;
“According to a Source, President Tinubu is also considering Tony O. Elumelu as CBN Governor.”
In response to the tweet, Tony Elumelu dismissed the claims categorically, labeling them as “false news.”
