Mohbad: We’re waiting to hear from Bella Shmurda – Police PRO

The mystery surrounding Mohbad's untimely passing has remained a perplexing riddle, proving challenging to unravel, this is precisely why the police are diligently probing into the circles of individuals who were closely connected to him. Bella Shmurda, a close confidant of Mohbad, is among those of particular interest in this investigation.


Olumuyiwa Adejobi, the Public Relations Officer of the Nigeria Police Force, has stated that they are eagerly awaiting singer Bella Shmurda’s cooperation, as he was a close associate of the late rapper Mohbad, and his information could be crucial to their ongoing investigation.

WITHIN NIGERIA had earlier reported that the fast-rising rapper, Mohbad, passed away under contentious circumstances on Tuesday.

Subsequently, the police officially launched an inquiry into the circumstances surrounding the singer’s untimely demise.

The law enforcement agency has also issued a call for anyone possessing valuable information, particularly friends and family members of the late rapper, to step forward.

Controversial self-styled investigative journalist, Kemi Olunloyo, via X handle,  gave Bella Shmurda a 48-hour ultimatum to approach the police and provide his account of the events.

On her X handle, she wrote;

Bella Shmurda I’m giving you 48 hrs to go to @PoliceNG and speak to @Princemoye1 or force CID Ikoyi.”

Police spokesperson, Adejobi quoted her post with the caption; “I am waiting to hear from him.”

During an interview, Bella Shmurda disclosed a harrowing revelation that Mohbad had made a desperate suicide attempt following his discord with the record label owned by Naira Marley, known as Marlian Music.

Bella further shared that the late rapper had been subjected to menacing threats.

Four days after news broke about Mohbad’s death, Naira Marley and his record label reacted to the news as they released an official statement addressing ex signee’s tragic demise.

In the official statement released on Naira’s pagehe touched on some things, noting that he has no hand in the death of the deceased.
