American rappers, Kodak Black, Lil Duck mourn Mohbad

The music industry has been thrown into mourning following the demise of Nigerian rapper, Mohbad.

But it’s not just his fellow Nigerian musicians that have been paying tribute to the young artist. American rappers, Kodak Black and Lil Duck, have both expressed their sadness at the loss of the young Nigerian artist.

Kodak Black was particularly emotive in his tribute to Mohbad, using Instagram Live to connect with his fans and express his sadness.

He revealed that he had only come across Mohbad’s social media pages a few days before his death, and was struck by the young rapper’s talent and potential.

He said:

“R.I.P to Mohbad. Kodak you were his neighborhood hero till he passing. Damn!

“What’s so crazy right now is I just ran across this n*gga’s page this week -few days ago.

“Sleep well wherever you are, man.”

Lil Duck also joined Kodak Black in expressing his grief over Mohbad’s untimely passing.

The rapper, who has himself experienced the loss of many friends and colleagues in the industry, paid his respect to the late singer via his Instagram and X handle.

He wrote:

“RIP Mohbad aka Imole.”

Similarly,  Davido pays tribute to Mohbad during ‘Timeless’ show 

Mohbad’s unexpected passing at the tender age of 27 had left a nation in mourning, and Davido’s tribute added a poignant note to the ongoing remembrance of the talented artist.

During Mohbad’s burial earlier this week, Davido displayed his compassion by sending a generous condolences gift of 2 million naira to the grieving family.

Before commencing his much-anticipated concert, Davido took a moment to address his eager fans, acknowledging the challenges artists face in their personal lives.

He emphasized that, like anyone else, artists also go through their share of hardships.

It was in this heartfelt atmosphere that Davido paid his tribute to Mohbad.

With a heavy heart, Davido gave a touching shout-out to the late singer, expressing his belief that Mohbad was watching over them from heaven.
