- Basketmouth, in his latest video, extended a sincere olive branch to AY, expressing regret for any prior words or deeds that soured their relationship, while beckoning them to bury the hatchet and find common ground.
- These two renowned Nigerian stand-up comedians, once as thick as thieves, recently dominated headlines with their long-standing feud.
The seasoned stand-up comedian, Basketmouth, has finally buried the hatchet, ending a beef that’s simmered for 17 long years with his colleague, AY Makun.
It would be recalled that earlier in 2023, AY, in a tell-all interview, spilled the beans, revealing that their longstanding clash had its roots in unpaid dues from a show he hosted for Basketmouth, a financial dispute that’s been lingering like a bad penny.
In a recent heartfelt post shared on Basketmouth’s Instagram, he extended a sweeping apology not just to the comedy world at large but also to anyone he might have ruffled feathers with.
Putting the spotlight on his feud with AY Makun, he earnestly sought forgiveness, acknowledging that his apology might be arriving fashionably late but hoping it would be embraced graciously.
Basketmouth also took a moment to extend apologies to those who had accused him of actions that allegedly affected their careers.
His words;
“To all the people in the industry and beyond that I have offended over time, knowingly or unknowingly, I say this from the bottom of my heart, I am genuinely sorry. And to the people who have accused me of doing things that have affected their career, I am not going to accept or deny these allegations, but please forgive me.
“To my guy, Ay, I don’t know if my apology is still valid right now, but if it is, please forgive me for whatever I have done or said that affected you in the past. I just want you to forgive me,”
