Seun Kuti: I Renovated Prison Cell, Naira Marley Will Enjoy My Charity

Kuti was charged with assaulting a police officer during an altercation on Saturday, May 13, on the Third Mainland Bridge, in Lagos

Grammy-nominated afrobeat musician Seun Kuti has claimed that as soon as he was freed, he sent money for his prison cell’s renovation in Panti.

WITHIN NIGERIA recalled that Kuti was arrested in Panti earlier this year after a viral video showed him assaulting a police officer.

In a recent Instagram live session with supporters, he stated that after recovering his freedom, he donated money to rebuild the cell, showers, and tiles.

He stated that Naira Marley, a rapper who was recently placed on remand in connection with the death of his former signee, Mohbad, will gain from his charitable efforts while he is incarcerated.

Kuti said, “The day I got home from Panti cell, I sent money for the renovation of the cell, toilet, showers and tiles.

“If you think I’m lying, go to Panti and verify. I renovated the cell I stayed in because I can go back there tomorrow.

“At least Naira Marley can enjoy my charity there.”
