Circle your calendars for the 13th of October 2023, as it marks the day when the late Jane Dolapo, the beloved mother of Afrobeat sensation Ayodeji Balogun, better known as Wizkid, will be laid to rest.

Wizkid’s mother tragically passed away around 1.30 a.m. on Friday, August 18th. Today, on Sunday, October 8th, the Balogun family has unveiled the intricate details of her impending burial ceremony.

A social media flyer has surfaced, outlining the funeral plans for the departed soul, which encompass a wake-keeping and tribute night slated for Thursday, October 12th, 2023.

The final farewell is scheduled for Friday, October 13th, with her funeral service taking place at the RCCG City of David in Victoria Island, Lagos.

Mrs. Dolapo Balogun’s legacy continues through her husband, Alhaji M.O Balogun, her four children – Yetunde, Omolara, Olubusayo, and Ayodeji Balogun, as well as her beloved grandchildren.

This is coming weeks after the Grammy-winning Nigerian singer made his first public appearance since the demise of his mother.

Mrs Balogun died last two months in Lagos State.

Since the incident, Wizkid, had remained out of the public spotlight and off social media.

However, the Starboy boss made his first public appearance after almost one month in hibernation mourning the death of his mum.

According to photos circulating on the internet, Wizkid was pictured at The V&A in London, United Kingdom, attending the private view of “Gabrielle Chanel Fashion Manifesto” on Wednesday, September 13, 2023.

In the photos, Wizkid wore a knitted black shirt with plain, greasy trousers of the same colour.
