AY Makun’s attempt at humour took an unfortunate turn when he poked fun at Davido’s ‘small manhood’, stating that the singer has used it to impregnate a lot of women while he who possesses a big manhood found it difficult to do the same.
The joke didn’t sit well with many, as they considered it not only insensitive but also crossing a line of decency.
In response to the growing backlash, AY Makun took a commendable step by crafting a public apology for Davido.
He wrote:
“I am so sorry for telling that joke the way it came out in Warri. I shouldn’t even call it a joke anymore . It wasn’t funny like it was during my tour of US and Canada, and you have every right to be angry after seeing how the blogs used it.
Please know that it is always a learning experience for all of us in the entertainment business. I deserve any backlash or negative thoughts coming my way for the joke that was badly delivered in Warri. So, no excuses at all, my Aburo. No reason am. I remain your number one fan, and I love you, @davido.”
Davido, known for his easygoing nature, demonstrated maturity by accepting AY Makun’s apology without any reservations.
He not only acknowledged the apology but also conveyed his lack of offence over the matter.
