Lagos Coroner summons Naira Marley, Primeboy, Sam Larry over Mohbad’s death

The four prime suspects in Mohbad's case, Nurse Fisayo who administered the injection, Primeboy, Mohbad's friend allegedly involved in a deadly altercation resulting in his wound, and Naira Marley and Sam Larry, the late singer's former associates accused of assaulting him, are currently cooling their heels in police custody as the investigation heats up. Now, the Coroner's Court has cast its net over three out of four, and the world is on the edge of its seat, anticipating their appearance and testimony in court

The Coroner Magistrate, Adedayo Shotobi, on Friday, October 13, summoned Primeboy, Naira Marley and Sam Larry to appear before it on October 25 in the ongoing inquest to unravel the cause of death of Mohbad and those culpable over the incident.

The police have informed the coroner that they are awaiting the completion of Mohbad’s autopsy to determine the exact cause of his death.

In response, the coroner has instructed the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department (SCID), Panti, to ensure the presence of the music stars at the next adjourned date on October 25.

This order was issued after hearing submissions from various parties.

The Coroner’s Court has the duty of investigating the causes and circumstances surrounding certain deaths that are considered to be unnatural, violent, or cases where the cause remains unknown.

Mohbad passed away on September 12, and his death has sparked controversies on social media. Several suspects, including Feyisola Ogedengbe, Naira Marley, Sam Larry, and Primeboy are currently in police custody as part of the investigation into Mohbad’s death.

There have been nationwide protests with thousands of Nigerians demanding justice for Mohbad. On September 21, the police exhumed Mohbad’s body for autopsy, and they are awaiting the results.

Recently, the police in Lagos named Ogedengbe, the auxiliary nurse who administered injections to Mohbad, as the “prime suspect” in the singer’s death.

The commissioner stated that the injections, which included tetanus toxoid, paracetamol, and ceftriaxone injection (IV), were given at Mohbad’s residence.
