- Britney Spears claims Justin Timberlake’s lack of parental readiness was the only reason she ended the pregnancy
- Britney noted the pregnancy was a surprise but one she was willing to keep because she loved Timberlake and wanted to have a family with him someday
- She revealed that it was the most antagonizing thing she has ever experienced in her life
In her upcoming autobiography, Britney Spears says she had to abort a pregnancy while dating Justin Timberlake since he didn’t want a child at the time.
The first chapter of the popstar’s memoir, ‘The Woman in Me‘, has been published, and it covers the abuse she is believed to have suffered while under the strange conservatorship she was placed between 2008 and 2021, as well as the abortion she claims to have had while dating Justin Timberlake.
Britney Spears told People Magazine that while the pregnancy came as a surprise, she was happy to accept it because she loved Timberlake and hoped to start a family with him in the future. Unfortunately, Justin who wasn’t ready for kids, didn’t take the news well.
The excerpt read:
“It was a surprise, but for me, it wasn’t a tragedy. I loved Justin so much. I always expected us to have a family together one day. This would just be much earlier than I’d anticipated, but Justin definitely wasn’t happy about the pregnancy. He said we weren’t ready to have a baby in our lives, that we were way too young.”
They were both only 19 years old when she discovered she was pregnant and had no alternative but to end the pregnancy.
She said, “If it had been left up to me alone, I never would have done it. And yet Justin was so sure that he didn’t want to be a father. To this day, it’s one of the most agonising things I have ever experienced in my life.”
When they first started dating in 1999, Spears and Timberlake were the “it” pair, winning over fans’ admiration. This was especially true in 2001, when they attended the American Music Awards wearing similar denim costumes. Up to its collapse in March 2002, their cute and public romance had the backing of the broader public.
Then, in 2004, Britney married Kevin Federline, with whom she had two sons, Sean Preston and Jayden James, before divorcing him in 2007.
