Kanayo O Kanayo speaks on Mr Ibu’s health condition; addresses backlash from Reno Omokri, others – VIDEO

Ever since Mr. Ibu's worsening health came to light, a whirlwind of rumors and criticism has erupted from all angles. Omokri, Maduagwu, and Verydarkman have been the prominent figures whose opinions on the comedian's illness have ignited yet another firestorm of controversy. This set Kanayo off like a powder keg, as he unleashed a verbal barrage, accusing them of shamelessly chasing clout and hogging the spotlight

Nollywood stalwart Kanayo O Kanayo has thrown his hat into the ring, responding to his ailing colleague, Mr. Ibu, who’s sounded the clarion call for public assistance, in doing so, he seized the moment to douse the fiery accusations flung at him and his movie industry colleagues.

WITHIN NIGERIA reported that Mr Ibu recently cried out for prayers following his battle with an unnamed illness, which may lead to the amputation of his legs.

In response to the news, the former presidential media aide, Reno Omokri, highlighted that Mr. Ibu had been a steadfast supporter of Peter Obi, and he urged the LP flagbearer to step up and assist with the thespian’s medical expenses.

Actor Uche Maduagwu, on the other hand, levelled serious allegations against his fellow actors, suggesting they were responsible for Mr. Ibu’s ailment, alleging the use of charms. Meanwhile, the well-known Tiktoker, Verydarkman, accused Nollywood movie professionals of neglecting the Comic Actor.

Addressing comments from Reno Omokri Uche Maduagwu, Verydarkman, others, Kanayo, in a new video cautioned them against chasing clout with Mr Ibu’s condition.

Kanayo passionately emphasized that on behalf of his fellow actors, they wholeheartedly sympathize with their dear colleague, Mr. Ibu. He noted that his family has been giving it their all since news of his illness surfaced last year, and now they’ve openly appealed for public support, a move he considers entirely reasonable.

He posed a rhetorical question, asking if the critics would have preferred silence and watched Mr. Ibu’s situation worsen.

The 61-year-old said in parts;

“As actors, our heart goes out to our very dear colleague John Okafor, Mr Ibu. His family has been doing their best since it was reported last year he was sick and now they have come out to say we have done our best we need public support. It’s not in any sense wrong. Would you have felt bad or better if they kept quiet and allowed our colleague die? Onye ka ozuru? Now I condemned in strict terms Reno Omokri who is coming to call Peter Obi’s name and so on.

“It is not a friendly thing, it is wicked and the other guy Uche Maduagwu and so who talked about top actors, shame on top actors, I say shame on you too. Shame on you because you don’t have any value and level to call our names, It is an individual thing to do to support a colleague. It becomes a collectable as Actors Guild of Nigeria who are doing their best within their limited time. Even those who have given can also be appreciated,”
