2face never wanted Faze to join Plantation Boyz – Blackface spills in new interview (VIDEO)

It appears that the Plantation Boyz, an iconic Nigerian music group that left a lasting impression on subsequent generations of artists, may not have been the cherished 3-member group we love today according to Blackface's recent revelation. He asserted that they initially kicked off as a 2-member act, and 2face was allegedly against Faze joining them. Blackface called out 2baba for consistently avoiding any mention of him in interviews.

A well-worn figure in the Nigerian music, Blackface, has thrown down the gauntlet, summoning the specters of yesteryears as he reignites the age-old feud with his former friend and bandmate, 2face Idibia.

Recall that after thrilling Nigerians with great music for years, popular music group, Plantashun Boiz, broke up in 2004. The defunct music group had Innocent Idibia, aka 2face; Ahmedu Augustine Obiabo, aka Blackface, and Chibuzor Oji, aka Faze.

Though the group came back together in 2007 to record a third album, Blackface and 2face can right now be described as bitter enemies. Blackface has always said he was unfairly treated by his former group member.

In a candid discussion about his longstanding disagreement with 2face on Nedu’s Honest Bunch podcast, Blackface kicked things off by reminiscing about the six-month period when 2face initially opposed Faze joining their music group.

Blackface explained that they required three voices in perfect harmony to produce successful hit songs, which is why he proposed bringing Faze into the fold. He said after considerable deliberation, 2face ultimately succumbed, and together they went on to make history.

In their ongoing dispute over the song “African Queen,” Blackface revealed that when 2face was asked about their conflicting claims on the song’s ownership, he skillfully sidestepped questions concerning him and refrained from discussing him during interviews.

The dancehall singer vented his frustration at how 2face fervently disassociates himself from him, despite Blackface’s assertion that he played a pivotal role in propelling him to stardom.
