- Tonto Dikeh has emerged from the cloak of silence, addressing the firestorm ignited by her switch to the APC.
- The Nollywood star, unveiled by APC’s national women leader, Dr. Mary Alile, on October 23, left no stone unturned in providing an elaborate account of the driving forces behind her decision.
Nollywood Actress turned politician Tonto Dikeh has revealed why she joined President Bola Tinubu’s ruling party, All Progressives Congress (APC).
The 37-year-old starlet was officially welcomed into the APC ranks by none other than the national women leader, Dr. Mary Alile, and the deputy national public secretary, Duro Mesdeko, right at the heart of the party’s headquarters in Abuja, on Monday.
In a statement dropped on Instagram this Tuesday, Tonto Dikeh laid her cards on the table, expressing unwavering belief in Nigeria’s future prosperity through President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s renewed hope agenda.
She stressed that she’s not just buying into the vision; she’s got the whole playbook in her hands, equipped with the facts, goals, and the master plan of this revitalized agenda.
Tonto made it crystal clear that she’s setting her emotions aside and staying committed to working for the greater good of the Nigerian youth, women, and the entire nation, just as she’s consistently done through the Committee of Youth on Mobilization and Sensitization (CYMS) platform in collaboration with the Federal Government.
She wrote;
“Facts accompanied with evidence usually bring arguments to an end, which propel drastic decisions and changes for the common good. Having been presented with these facts, goals and vision of the current renewed hope agenda, I have decided to put emotions aside and continue to work for the greater good of the Nigerian youth, women and the country at large as I have always done through the Committee of Youth on Mobilization and Sensitization (CYMS) platform in partnership with the Federal Government.
“I have learnt over the years that impactful leadership comes from visionary leaders offering selfless service to humanity, i am all about the progress of my country, Nigeria, and the youths of this great nation at large.
“This is not a win for me alone but a win for our dreams, hope and struggles to ensure we make our unborn generation proud with good legacies.
“I am headstrong on for you Nigerians, and in due time, you will surely feel the positive impacts of my decision as it will be evident through us all. As a patriotic Nigerian, a progressive youth and an advocate of girl-child, i want to reiterate that i believe in the prosperity of Nigeria under the RENEWED HOPE AGENDA OF President Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR.”
