Hilda Baci reacts after losing Guinness world record to Irish Chef

A world record is a canvas painted with the colors of tenacity and courage, it's a testament to the audacity of dreaming big. Hilda Baci, the celebrated Nigerian chef, had basked in the glow of this euphoria for months, having shattered a Guinness World Record. However, out of the blue, an Irish chef emerged to surpass her unbeaten time, leaving her with a profound response to this unexpected twist of fate.


Renowned Nigerian culinary sensation, Hilda Bassey, has responded to the extraordinary feat achieved by Irish chef Alan Fisher, who resides in Japan, for smashing not one but two Guinness World Records for the lengthiest solo cooking marathon.

WITHIN NIGERIA had previously reported that Alan Fisher, an Irish restaurant owner and chef on Monday broke two Guinness World Records relating to cooking marathons.

Fisher achieved an unprecedented feat by continuously cooking for an astounding 119 hours and 57 minutes, eclipsing the previous record of 93 hours and 11 minutes, which was set earlier this year by Nigerian chef Hilda Baci.

He also broke the record for the longest baking marathon category, as he diligently baked for an impressive 47 hours and 21 minutes, surpassing the previous record of 31 hours and 16 minutes.

Reacting, Hilda Baci, on her X page, congratulated him.

She wrote,

”Huge congratulations to Alan Fisher! 119hrs 57mins is a huge achievement, and I wish him all the best as the new world record holder.”

The Guinness World Records confirmed Fisher’s feat on their official Twitter account, and said they would send him a certificate and a medal to recognize his achievement.

They also praised Baci for her remarkable performance and said they were impressed by the diversity and creativity of the dishes prepared by both chefs.

Meanwhile, in a previous report, the celebrity chef revealed that she nursed ambitions to become a housemate, but it didn’t work out for her.

During a chat with BBNaija’s Tacha, Hilda revealed she tried to get on the reality show and auditioned about five times but did not make it. 

She revealed this made her channelled her energy to Guinness World Records before she finally got her name in their books.
