Daniel Regha causes buzz with bold comparison between Asake and Rema

Controversial Twitter personality Daniel Regha has once again stirred the social media pot by comparing two rising Nigerian singers, Rema and Asake.

Regha did not hold back in expressing his opinion, asserting that Asake holds a more significant position in the music industry compared to Rema.

According to Regha, the increased prominence of Rema can be attributed to the effective public relations strategies employed by Marvin’s Records, the record label led by the influential Don Jazzy.

Rema.

While acknowledging the impact of PR tactics, Regha argued that Asake’s artistic prowess surpasses that of Rema.

Regha delved into a critical analysis of the two artists’ musical compositions, asserting that Asake’s songs possess deeper meanings compared to Rema’s, which he claims often rely on recycled lyrics.

Despite drawing distinctions between the two, Regha emphasized that both artists are still in the early phases of their careers.

Asake.

Regha concluded his tweet with the statement “no shades,” clarifying that his intention was not to disparage either artist.

Instead, he aimed to initiate a constructive discussion around the contrasting styles and influences shaping the careers of Asake and Rema.

Asake is a bigger artiste than Rema, but Rema gets better PR thanks to Don Jazzy’s influence & that of Mavin Records. Lyrically speaking Asake has more meaningful songs; Rema 99% of the time recycles lyrics. The only thing they have in common is that both are still upcomers, that’s all. No shades,” Regha wrote.
