“You said he was chasing clout” – N6, YhemoLee, others react to Oladips’ death

Nigerians mourn the sudden death of rapper, Oladips

Netizens have again fallen into mourning, following the death of Nigerian rapper, Oladipupo Olabode Oladimenji, popularly known as Oladips.

Minutes ago, a statement by his management was posted on his Instagram page stating that he passed away at exactly 10:14pm on Tuesday night, November 14.

Reacting to the news, rapper, Nnamdi Nwabasili aka N6 mourned his colleague’s passing and criticized those who accused Oladips of chasing clout with a post he made some hours before his death.

Oladips

Recall in the late hours of yesterday, videos made the rounds on social media of the Lalakukulala crooner seeming to have collapsed as his friends surrounded him.

Before the video started to circulate, Oladips had taken to his Instagram stories to cry out for help. In the post, he mentioned one of his friends, @onlyonelifetime, and asked where he was. The rapper complained about how he had tried to reach the friend on the phone several times and how they knew he didn’t like to be left alone in the house, especially with his condition.

This post by the rapper generated a lot of backlash with many claiming he was only trying to gain publicity. Hours after his death was reported, thousands have flooded his Instagram page to mourn him.

This act made N6 state that it’s no wonder people hardly come out to state their struggles. In his words:

“Na why Man no dey Speak out. Shey you all were saying he was clout chasing not up to 24hours ago.
RIP OLADIPS.”

Also reacting, Yhemolee took to the comment section of a post to express his profound shock like many others. He wrote:

“No freaking way”.
