Controversy surrounds alleged death of singer Oladips as fans accuse him of jealousy

The Nigerian entertainment industry has found itself at the center of a bizarre controversy involving popular rapper Oladips, who was initially reported to have met an untimely demise.

However, amidst the mourning and tributes, suspicions arose that the rapper might have orchestrated his own death as a publicity stunt for his latest album.

The rumours were dispelled by a fellow artist, who hinted that the entire episode was a carefully planned strategy by Oladips’ management.

Despite the clarification, a significant portion of netizens continued to adhere to the narrative of Oladips’ death, even going so far as to organize funeral rites and candlelight processions in his honour.

The confusion began when news of Oladips’ alleged death circulated widely, plunging fans and colleagues into sorrow.

It was a fellow artist who broke the silence, shedding light on the supposed orchestration by Oladips’ management.

The revelation, however, did little to quell the storm on social media.

Many netizens, refusing to believe the contrary reports, insisted on maintaining the narrative of Oladips’ demise.

Some voices on social media have accused the singer of orchestrating the fake death out of jealousy for the posthumous boost in popularity that followed the demise of ex-Marlian signee, Mohbad, several months ago under mysterious circumstances.

The alleged envy stemmed from the belief that Mohbad’s career witnessed a significant surge after his passing, leading to increased attention and success.

Some netizens hypothesized that Oladips, seeking a similar boost in his own career, resorted to the extreme measure of faking his own death.
