It is with great sadness that the Kannywood film industry mourns the loss of renowned director, Aminu Bono, who tragically passed away on Monday.
Information has it that Aminu collapsed and was rushed to the hospital, where medical professionals unfortunately confirmed his untimely death.
On Tuesday, the deceased will be buried in accordance with Muslim customs.
Actor Ali Nuhu honored Bono in an Instagram message on Monday night, confirming his passing.
Posting his photo, he wrote:
“May God have mercy on Aminu S Bono and make paradise your final abode.”
Aminu Bono, with his contributions to the Kannywood film industry, leaves behind a legacy that will continue to inspire filmmakers.
Few days ago, another popular Kannywood actor Samanja passed on
Theater expert Husseini Shaibu made this revelation on Sunday via his Facebook page.
Shaibu wrote:
“I have been reliably informed that light has dimmed on the veteran actor, Usman Baba Pategi, popularly known as Samanja Mazan Fama.
The actor who rode to national prominence in the 80’s playing Samanja in the defunct NTA drama series (about the life of Soldiers in the barracks), titled ‘Samanja’, reportedly passed on around midnight on Sunday.
“The last time I saw Samanja was in Lagos in 2019 when he was awarded the Fellowship of Theatre Arts (FTA) by the Israel Eboh-led National Association of Nigerian Theatre Arts Practitioners.
“Journey Well Sir…. Good Night Samanja!,”
Another actor with the name Okey Ogunjiofor also paid his respect to the departed in the post’s comments section.
He wrote: “The Legends who made our early days sweet are departing gradually. May his soul rest in peace”.
According to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), Pategi was born on May 20, 1942, in Pategi, Northern Nigeria, into the royal house of the Pategi Emirate.
