YBNL label member J Brandy praised Olamide, the founder of the popular Nigerian music label, for his significant influence on the country’s music scene.

The acknowledgment highlighted Olamide’s pivotal role as a mentor and key figure in shaping the careers of numerous Nigerian artists.

J Brandy expressed deep respect for Olamide, noting that without his impact, the trajectory of many artists in Nigeria would have been markedly different.

“If not for the influence of Olamide in Nigeria’s Music Industry, Only God knows where many of our artists will be,” J Brandy wrote.

This recognition comes on the heels of Olamide’s recent Grammy nomination, marking a historic milestone in his career and placing him alongside other Nigerian music icons like Davido and Burna Boy.

However, amidst the celebration, there are voices of discontent within the YBNL family. Former YBNL artist Temmie, who parted ways with the label, took to social media in September to openly criticize Olamide for what she described as poor treatment during her time with the label.

Temmie accused Olamide of neglecting her musical career and claimed that her recorded music files were lost.

In addition to these claims, Temmie shed light on a difficult relationship with Olamide’s wife, alleging unfair treatment.

Importantly, she clarified that she was never physically or sexually assaulted by Olamide, emphasizing this point to dispel any rumours that had circulated following her initial allegations.

In other news, Well-known Nigerian rapper and music executive, Olamide, popularly known as Badoo, has revealed the idea behind his record label, YBNL.

Olamide claimed that he started signing young artists in order to reinvest in the company that was giving him income and cut back on unnecessary spending.
