Davido encourages rising talents to embrace their authenticity and showcase their true artistic essence.

Renowned Nigerian artist Davido shares valuable advice for aspiring musicians, emphasizing the importance of originality in their artistic journey.

The singer, known for his captivating Afrobeat sound, believes that carving out a unique identity is key to achieving success and longevity in the competitive music industry.

Moving backward in time, the singer reminisced about moving to Nigeria to pursue music that deviated from the mainstream in the West.

According to Davido, he became a superstar when he returned to the United States because of the distinctive sound he created in Nigeria.

In a video message sent on Friday via his X (formerly Twitter) page, Davido advised upcoming musicians to constantly make sure they stand out creatively

He wrote:

If I could give advice to aspiring musicians, just be original.

“I used to live in America. I could have stayed just done what everybody else was doing. My calling was to go back home [Nigeria] and represent the culture [Afrobeats] and eventually, it still brought me back out here. But everybody else has their own path. The most important thing is be original.”
